Listing Translator for Etsy: translate one listing into your buyers’ languages, on your own machine

A browser extension that translates an Etsy listing’s title, description and tags using the translator built into your browser — nothing is uploaded, and no API key is involved. It is not on any store yet; this page is where it will be sold when it is.

You cannot install this yet. It is not on the Chrome Web Store or any other store, and there is no download on this page. A subscription unlocks the extension inside the browser of someone who already has it — so if you arrived here without it, the unlock code you get after paying has nothing to open.

If that is you, leave an address at the bottom of this page instead. You get one message when it can be installed, and nothing else. No date is promised, because none is decided.

What it does

  • On your shop’s listing editor, it reads the title, description and tags you already wrote — on a real editor page this is the step we have not been able to test ourselves; see below.
  • It translates them into the languages you pick, on your own machine, using the translator your browser ships with. The text does not travel to us, because we do not run a server for this.
  • It shortens anything that would not fit Etsy’s title and tag limits, and it names what it shortened instead of quietly cutting it.
  • You copy the result into Etsy’s own Translations section yourself. The extension does not submit anything for you and never touches your shop settings.

What it is not

Not a bulk lister, not an SEO tool, not a shop manager. It does not ask for an Etsy API key, it does not log in as you, and it cannot publish, edit or delete a listing. If you want software that runs your whole shop, this is not that, and we would rather say so here.

What it needs, and where it will not work

It depends on a translator built into the browser itself. On our test machine that translator reports the language pair as downloadable rather than ready, which means the first translation into a new language waits for a model to download. We have not yet tested it on Microsoft Edge, and if your browser has no built-in translator the extension has nothing to run on and will say so instead of pretending. Machine translation is also machine translation: it is a first draft for a market you cannot read, not a substitute for someone who speaks the language.

We have not yet run it on a real Etsy listing editor. We do not have a seller account, and that page needs a login, so the part that finds your title, description and tags is checked against a page we wrote to the shape we expect — not against Etsy’s own HTML. It may therefore find nothing on the real page. What it will not do is pretend: if a field is missing it names which ones it could not find and stops there, so you are never handed a translation of text it never read. This is the one thing on this page we cannot check ourselves, and the first thing we will check with the first seller who installs it.

Free and paid

One listing a day, three languages, is free — no card, no account, and it stays free. The paid tier removes both limits. There is no usage ceiling on the paid tier and no metering, for a boring reason worth saying out loud: the translation runs on your computer, so a thousand listings cost us exactly what one costs us, which is nothing. Nobody has to be rationed.

Price and terms

$7/month, billed every month for as long as you keep it, and you can cancel at any time — the month you cancel in is the last one you pay for. This is a subscription, not a one-off payment. The free tier stays free and needs no card: one listing a day, three languages, no card and no account. No date is promised for anything not described above as already working.

Cancel in one click, and a refund for the asking. Cancelling is a link in the receipt Stripe emails you, and the month you cancel in is the last one billed. If a month was not worth it to you, email support@rehobothbuilds.com with the word “refund” — you do not owe us a reason, and we do not ask for one.

One thing worth saying plainly, because it is how we actually decide: the extension already exists — what a subscription decides is whether we keep working on it and put it on the stores. Addresses on this list are not counted in that decision; we read them as interest, not as demand. So if you are waiting, you are betting that a stranger subscribes. We say this so that a quiet list does not get read as a verdict on the idea, and so that nobody waits for something that never gets finished.

We store the address and the date. Nothing else, and it is not shared. Reply to the one message you get and we delete it.

That is what this page stores. What the extension itself stores, once you install it, is in its privacy policy — readable before you pay.
